Pregnancy Snack Time
Snack Time, Again
Peanuts, pretzels, unsalted popcorn, whatever it is you're hungry for will improve your creativity as the day wears on. Keeping it interesting doesn't need to be complicated. How about adding trail mix to your dietary agenda? What about a smoothie?
Trail Mix
You will need:
1 cup of your favorite nuts, all one kind or a mixture
1 Tbsp raisins
1 Tbsp dried cranberries
3 dried apricot halves, chopped
1 Tbsp shredded coconut
½ cup whole grain dry cereal
Directions:
Toss them all in a resealable sandwich bag, give them a quick shake, and start munching.
Makes two servings. Find a friend to share with, or seal it up for a future snack. This one holds up well for a few days.
Smooth Mood Smoothie
You will need:
4 - 6 ounces of low fat yogurt (your favorite flavor)
½ cup berries or bananas
2 ounces of low fat milk
Directions:
Pop it all in the blender (or use a hand held blender) and pulse until the mixture reaches your desired smoothness. Drink down that delicious goodness.
Serves one. Want a frozen treat? Substitute low fat frozen yogurt for regular yogurt.
