Baby Changing Tables Buying Advice

Tips For Selecting The Right Changing Table

While a changing table isn’t necessarily a necessity, it makes life a lot easier when you are working with a newborn. A diaper-changing table provides a safe, sturdy and convenient place to change your baby’s diaper.

Most changing tables also provide a handy area for storing your baby’s diapers, wipes, a change of clothes and other personal care items. They also come in a wide selection of styles, colors, sizes and brands. You can find almost any style to match your nursery or other house furniture.

Tips For Selecting a Changing Table

  • Safety Straps: make sure you buy a table with safety straps. These enable you to secure your baby to the table so she can’t roll off. This is a must have item for all parents.

  • Safety Rails: almost all changing tables come with guardrails to prevent your baby from rolling off as well. Typically the higher the guardrail the safer the table. You should always combine safety straps with a guardrail to provide your baby with the best possible protection.

  • Pads: changing pads are sometimes sold separately from the changing table. They help eliminate mess and keep the area sanitized.

Don’t forget to search for a changing table that provides ample room for storage. The more shelves yo u have the more space available to store wipes, diapers, creams, clothes, toys and more. You can even store your baby’s bath items in the changing table if you select one with enough room!

Last but not least, don’t forget to fill out your product registration card and send in when buying a changing table, to be sure the manufacturer calls you in the event of a recall!
