Congratulations! You made it to pregnancy week 29, and you are now officially entering your third and final trimester of pregnancy. By week 29 of pregnancy, your baby weighs just under 3 pounds and is probably at least 16 inches long.

As you follow your pregnancy week by week from pregnancy week 29 and beyond, you will notice your belly appears larger and rounder. During the third trimester your baby focuses most of his or her attention on gaining a bit of weight so he or she is healthy following delivery.

Your baby's brain is also still maturing. Once your baby's brain forms grooves so it resembles a mature brain, your baby begins to build billions of neurons to help support normal brain function. It is very important during pregnancy week 29 and beyond you eat well. You should consider asking your doctor about taking an extra supplement of essential fatty acids, as these promote brain health and may also help prevent depression in mothers before or after delivery.

Your doctor may recommend an exact amount to take and recommend certain types of essential fatty acids like Flax Seed oil. Your baby will receive most of the fat to nourish his or her brain from you, so you will need to restock your body's own supply during pregnancy week 29 and beyond.
