As your baby continues to gain weight and grows longer, your baby will more and more resemble the dimpled child you will bear several weeks from now. By 24 weeks pregnant, your baby continues to develop important systems including his or her organ and circulatory systems.

Around pregnancy 24 weeks your baby's lungs also start producing small branches that will in time produce surfactant. As you continue to approach delivery more and more of this substance will grow, protecting your baby's lungs and helping your baby's lungs mature and grow.

Belly Rubs
You may notice around pregnancy week 24 because of your rapidly expanding belly, many people want to rub your pregnant belly. Some consider this good luck. If it bothers you, you can always tell people you are sensitive, or place a protective arm around your belly.

You on the other hand, should rub your belly regularly during pregnancy weeks 24 and beyond. Your baby will enjoy the calming feel of your rhythmic movements. It is a subtle yet important way to connect with your baby while in utero. Your baby will also enjoy the sound of your voice as you rub your pregnant belly, so feel free to sing or talk to your baby as much as you want.

While you may feel silly at first, keep in mind babies are very aware of the world outside of the womb. Most babies instantly recognize the scent and sound of their mother after birth. The more you communicate with your baby during pregnancy week 24 through your last trimester, the closer you will feel toward your baby following delivery.

Pregnancy Symptoms in Later Pregnancy
Because your baby is getting stronger each day, around 24 weeks pregnant you may notice your baby's kicks growing stronger and stronger. It isn't uncommon for a baby to kick hard enough to elicit a yelp from mother!

Aside from this you may also notice your baby is not moving around as much as before. Usually this is because there is less space in the womb as your baby continues to grow after 24 weeks pregnancy. Most babies will move subtly around 10 times an hour; you may not notice them all of the time. If you have concerns about your baby's movements in the womb, then drink a little juice and sit back. Usually this stimulates your baby to the point where they will move and reassure you.
